In a recent development, Dr. Hourani has expanded her scholarly engagement by affiliating herself with the Institute of Religion and Society at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv, Ukraine. This newly established affiliation, set to span a year, underscores her commitment to the continuation of her research project entitled "Ukrainian Women in Lebanon: Mobilizing Against the Russian Invasion - A Nexus of Gender, Diaspora, and Geopolitics." The research aims to understand the intersectionality between gender dynamics, diasporic experiences, and geopolitical transformations during times of conflict. The Institute's Director noted that her affiliation seamlessly aligns with the ongoing research initiatives of the Institute, particularly in the realm of Middle East and North Africa (MENA) studies.
